Charlevoix, Mich., scrapbook, [19uu]

A thin album with a handmade brown leather cover with "Charlevoix Mich" burned into it in an ornate medieval style script. There are 20 faded black paper pages with photographs cut from an unidentified magazine pasted onto them. The images include the Pere Marquette Railroad depot, several area hotels and inns including the Belvedere Hotel, several scenic points, the Chicago Club building, the steamer Illinois, a swimming pool, Native American making baskets, cottages, the U. S. Life-Saving Station and crew, and several boating and water scenes. Each image measures approximately 6 inches x 4 inches. Except for the pages fading, the scrapbook is in very good condition. While undated, the images clearly date from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
